Journey to the West Traditional Chinese Medicine is a practice focusing on helping each individual on their own personal Journey to optimum health. Because everyone is different, each person needs different types of treatment to deal with the various health problems that transpire. That's why we treat each case individually and devise treatment strategies that fit in with people's lifestyles, personalities, jobs and philosophies. We use ancient medicine to help assist with the stresses inherent in a modern world.
The clinic's name came from a famous Chinese classical story published during the 1500's by an unknown author. It details the journey of a Buddhist boy priest, Tripitaka, from China (East) to India (West) to collect holy scriptures for Guan Yin, the Compassionate one, and feminine face of the Buddha. His companions were animal spirits, cast out of Heaven for behaving badly - Monkey, the God of monkeys, Pigsy and Sandy, both high-ranking servants of the Heavenly Host. As their Journey progressed, each of the disciples learned important lessons about life, behaviour and correct ways of living. The story of Journey to the West is most famously expressed in popular culture as the 1980's TV series, "Monkey".It's also recently been featured as an Opera and CD written by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett from Gorillaz.
Through Chinese Medicine, Journey to the West will endeavour to help you along your own Journey to health and happiness!
